Andrea has been part of the University of Utah faculty since 1990. She received her M.S. from the University of Oregon and her Ph.D. from the University of Utah. She is currently the program Coordinator in Early Childhood Special Education and also serves as a co-principal investigator on a federally funded sensory impairments/early childhood personnel preparation grant. Andrea has received over $3.9 million in grants, co-authored textbooks, and presented at numerous national conferences. Her work has been published in Topics in Early Childhood Special Education, Education and Training in Mental Retardation, Journal of Early Intervention, Journal of the Association for Persons with Severe Handicaps, Research and Practice in Severe Disabilities, and Remedial and Special Education. Her areas of interest include inclusive programs for young children, intervention in natural contexts, family-professional partnerships, and interdisciplinary personnel preparation.
